Topographical Surveys using UAVs
Remote Aerial Surveys offers a fast, flexible and accurate topographic mapping service
Topographical surveys provide an accurate measured plan of a site. A detailed topographical survey is vital for any project as it can reduce the possibility of costly mistakes or unforeseen issues.
Traditionally the data for these surveys has been collected by land surveyors however it is now possible to use a UAV to capture the data required. Surveys which would normally take several days to complete on foot can now be completed in just a few hours, offering substantial cost savings.
Remote Aerial Surveys are experienced in providing topographical surveys using UAVs and have worked with some of the UKs top survey and construction companies. See some of our case studies here. Our surveys can be produced in any Autodesk, Bentley or GIS formats including .DWG, .DGN and .SHP. We have experience working in a range of formats, so please ask us if you have any other preference.
Our standard topographical survey provides the same accuracy as a traditional land survey (40mm) whilst our more technical rail track surveys are completed to a very high accuracy of 9mm. All of our surveys are completed to the very highest standards, on time and on budget. Features such as trees, buildings, pathways, roads, gullies, manholes, utility poles, walls, etc can all be accurately surveyed
We will collect, process and deliver the topographic survey information efficiently and accurately. Due to the methods used to collect UAV survey data, we are able to generate highly detailed plans. In addition, all of our topographical surveys include up-to-date photo mapping of the survey area. Unlike with traditional land surveying techniques, UAV topographical surveys can provide the following data at no extra cost:
- Geotagged photography of your site
- RGB Point cloud
- Digital elevation model
Our point cloud survey data, can be processed and imported into BIM software such as Autodesk Revit & Archicad to create an intelligent 3D model.
In order for us to provide a competitive quote, the team will need to know the following information:
- What is the size and location of the survey area? (a map of the survey area is really useful)
- Do you have any specific accuracy requirements?
- What features would you like to have included in the survey? (above/ below ground)
- What software format you would prefer?
