We are pleased to formally announce that our framework contract with Network Rail to provide UAV survey services has been extended by another year.

Remote Aerial Surveys were 1 of only 4 companies awarded a place on the national framework after successfully bidding to supply infrastructure inspection and survey services for a 3 year period.

Managing Director Richard Allitt said ‘We are very pleased to have this contract extended and delighted to be continuing to provide Network Rail with high quality UAV services for a further year.   The Remote Aerial Surveys part of our business was pioneered through the NR opportunity so it is a pleasure to continue working in this field whilst also having developed and significantly grown the business in other areas and applications.’

Network Rail Air operations team surveys the railway by helicopter and unmanned aircraft systems (UAS or drones).

Flying drones on or around rail infrastructure and people is a specialist and potentially high-risk activity. It is illegal to fly a drone on or near the railway, so NR have a framework of approved suppliers and specially trained in-house pilots, who are the only people authorised to fly drones over the railway. For more information on Network Rail Air Operations please click here
